Choice Teachers is working with a leading specialist educational provider to find a dedicated SEN Class Teacher to join a supportive school environment in Banbury. Our partner school caters to pupils aged 5-18 years with a range of complex needs, focusing on a holistic approach that balances academic progress with emotional well-being.
The Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons within the national curriculum, specifically adapted to meet the complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs of your pupils. You will lead a class team, fostering a positive, safe, and empowering environment where every child feels valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons tailored to complex SEMH needs.
- Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
- Reporting on pupil progress and collaborating with school staff to ensure individual needs are met.
- Building strong, positive relationships with pupils to drive interaction and learning outcomes.
- Supervising pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications: Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and possess a degree-level education.
Experience: Proven experience in a teaching role, with specific experience working with pupils with SEMH needs in an educational setting.
Skills: Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and a commitment to professional development.
