As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will work alongside people to help them build confidence, develop independence and achieve the goals that matter most to them. This is not a personal care role. Instead, you will focus on supporting people to live fulfilling lives, maintain their wellbeing, develop practical life skills and access opportunities within their local community. This is a vibrant 24-hour service supporting adults with mental health challenges. Every day is different, but you may be supporting people to:

  • Build confidence and maintain their independence
  • Develop daily living and tenancy skills
  • Plan and achieve personal goals
  • Access education, volunteering or employment opportunities
  • Attend appointments and engage with health professionals
  • Take part in social activities, hobbies and community events
  • Manage household responsibilities such as budgeting, shopping and meal planning
  • Maintain positive routines and wellbeing strategies
  • Build and maintain relationships with friends, family and their local community
  • Develop skills that help them live the life they choose

You will also work closely with colleagues and external professionals to ensure people receive consistent, person-centred support that promotes recovery, independence and wellbeing. The service benefits from a strong and experienced staff team that takes pride in delivering high-quality support. As a new member of the team, you will be joining a workplace where colleagues support one another, share their knowledge and work together to achieve positive outcomes for the people we support.
