About us
You will be leading Choice Support, a charitable community benefit society providing social care and housing to adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, and people with mental health needs. With 40 years’ experience behind us, we support over 2,500 people in England, from Yorkshire to the south coast. Our purpose is to create opportunities for happiness for the people that we support. Our team of c.2,600 employees delivers our highly respected services via an income of more than £74M pa.
Your role
We want you to provide visionary and values-driven leadership to Choice Support – championing our purpose and ensuring that the people we support are placed at the centre of everything we do.
As our Chief Executive, you will have the advantage of leading a financially sound organisation with a good reputation and a skilled and experienced senior team. You will work with the Board and leaders to ensure the organisation operates efficiently and maximises its resources, now and for the long term.
You will also lead the delivery of our strategic objectives – your drive and passion will be key to achieving sustainable growth and realising the full benefits of our digital transformation.
Within the organisation, you will be a role model, demonstrating Choice Support’s values and the highest standards of integrity and conduct at all times. Externally, you will be an ambassador, promoting Choice Support and helping influence national policy initiatives that benefit the people we support.
Your profile
We are looking for a visionary and values-driven leader, committed to providing excellent support to enable people to live independent and fulfilled lives. You will bring:
- a track record of successful achievement at senior leadership level in the social care sector
- excellent leadership skills, with a proven ability to motivate and inspire people
- experience of effective financial management in a large complex organisation
- a genuine commitment to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, and autistic people.
- the desire to be a champion of equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of Choice Support’s work, as an employer and service provider.
The role is home-based, or you can work in any of our offices. There is an expectation that you will travel nationally on a regular basis as part of the role.

Long list interviews will take place via Teams on 2, 3 and 4 December 2024 .
For shortlisted candidates, there will be Teams meetings with a panel of people that we support, our employees, senior leaders, and psychometric tests during the week commencing 9 December 2024 , as part of the selection process.
Final interviews will take place on 16, 18 and 19 December 2024 at our central London office .
