Overview of the role

The role of the Team Leader is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst making sure you always provide the highest level of care and leadby example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern.You must have experience in the care sector and have the willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Not only will you make a huge difference topeople’s lives, but you’ll be able to enjoy days out, trips away and join in with many more activities, all of which ensures the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.

Key duties

  • Taking the lead withsupporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment
  • Supervising a team and assisting withthe overall management of the home
  • Liaising with managers and other shift leaders
  • Executing any tasks allocatedin a professional, timely and accuratemanner
  • Supervisingand sharingmealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining
  • Assisting residents in their daily activitieswhether this be in or away from the home
  • Using your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and with day-to-day tasks

Where will you work?

Albert Lodge provides residential support for up to six residents with mental health conditions and associated complex needs. High quality, 24-hour support is provided for individuals who may be moving back into the community following a period in hospital or forensic services. The aim is to support residents in all aspects of their lives, such as personal budgeting or enhancing their daily living skills. Some also attend college or take part in local voluntary work. Everyone is supported in a person-centred way to enable them to achieve their desired outcome. The home is in central Southsea, close to all the town’s amenities. It’s in walking distance of the seafront, Southsea common and the local shops. The main shopping area of Portsmouth is only a 20 minute walk away and the home also has excellent bus and rail links.
