Overview of the role
The role of the Team Leader is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst ensuring the highest level of care and leading by example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and a willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge.
Key duties
- Taking the lead with supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment
- Supervising a team and assisting with the overall management of the home
- Liaising with managers and other shift leaders
- Executing any tasks allocated in a professional, timely and accurate manner
- Supervising and sharing mealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining
- Assisting residents in their daily activities whether this be in or away from the home
- Using your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and with day-to-day tasks
