The predicted salary is between 27 - 28 £ per hour.

Hours: 48

Salary: £13.40 to £13.60 Hour (a higher range is offered to applicants with qualifications in health and social care)

The role consists of shift work and weekends on a rota basis.

Overview of the role

The role of the Team Leader is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst making sure you always provide the highest level of care and lead by example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and have the willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Not only will you make a huge difference to people’s lives, but you’ll be able to enjoy days out, trips away and join in with many more activities, all of which ensures the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.

Key duties

  • Taking the lead with supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment
  • Supervising a team and assisting with the overall management of the home
  • Liaising with managers and other shift leaders
  • Executing any tasks allocated in a professional, timely and accurate manner
  • Supervising and sharing mealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining
  • Assisting residents in their daily activities whether this be in or away from the home
  • Using your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and with day-to-day tasks

Where will you work?

Holmhurst in Salisbury provides tailored support for up to nine people of varying ages with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions, including personality disorder, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, those with a dual diagnosis or a history of risk to themselves or others. Residents receive 24-hour support and work with our in-house Positive Behaviour Support Team to ensure their emotional and psychological needs are met. A Day Activity Coordinator develops structured activity programmes to support educational and personal development, at home and in the community, which are designed to maximise independence and help everyone achieve their individual goals. Residents enjoy arts and crafts, cooking and baking, board games and gardening. The home has close links with the community, and many of the residents attend a local learning disability or mental health social club several times each week.
