Care Without Compromise, a Choice Care sister company in Wales, supports people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and associated complex needs. With its own clinical team, Care Without Compromise has a particular expertise in understanding and supporting individuals with challenging behaviours. Specialist therapeutic services are integrated into the day to day person-centred support offered to the people we support, enabling them to progress towards a more meaningful and enjoyable daily life. Staff are fully trained in Positive Behavioural Support and are encouraged to develop their skills and career with the company, providing consistency and stability in the services.

Overview of the role

You will be assisting the Service Manager in the operation of a residential care home. Your duties will include development, implementation and monitoring of individual care plans; assisting with staff supervision and administrative control; and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes of practice and legislation. The position requires extensive knowledge, including supervisory experience from working in Adult Social Care. You will need to have a professional approach with the ability to organise and prioritise, and a good knowledge of relevant codes of practice and legislation.

Key duties

  • Identifying residents' emotional, physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and make appropriate decisions for action in consultation with the management team
  • Coordinating and leading the staffing team, under the direction of the Service Manager
  • Supporting the Service Manager by effectively conducting inductions and supervisions
  • Conducting regular team meetings and delegating responsibilities amongst the team
  • Supporting the Service Manager in maintaining appropriate levels of staffing by planning and managing a rota
  • Supporting the Service Manager in managing the impact of absence
  • Ensuring staff are up to date with training
  • Actively assisting and supporting the Service Manager with investigations, disciplinaries and grievances
  • Working in collaboration with other departments and services within the Company
  • Conducting risk assessments for both staff and residents

Caernewydd Farm supports 6 adults, both male and female, with behaviours that challenge and complex needs in a peaceful semi-rural setting in the scenic village of Kidwelly, roughly between Llanelli and Carmarthen. Set in its own spacious grounds with pleasant gardens, this working farm provides a tranquil environment for the people living here.
