Hours: 36 Salary: £13.40 to £13.60 per hour. The role consists of shift work and weekends on a rota basis. Overview of the role
The role of the Team Leader is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst ensuring the highest level of care and leading by example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home, reporting any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and a willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Not only will you make a huge difference to people’s lives, but you’ll also enjoy days out, trips away, and join in with many more activities, all of which ensure the people we work with are safe, happy, and lead fulfilling lives.
Key duties
- Taking the lead in supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment.
- Supervising a team and assisting with the overall management of the home.
- Liaising with managers and other shift leaders.
- Executing any tasks allocated in a professional, timely, and accurate manner.
- Supervising and sharing mealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining.
- Assisting residents in their daily activities, whether this be in or away from the home.
- Using your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and with day-to-day tasks.

Where will you work?
Stokewood is a detached, suburban home providing residential support for nine female residents of varied ages with mental health conditions such as schizophrenia and personality disorder, and associated complex needs. The home, approximately two miles from Fareham town centre, has seven en-suite bedrooms in the main building and two self-contained annexe rooms for individuals who prefer a more private environment, while still enjoying activities and interaction with other residents. Several residents attend educational and vocational training courses at nearby colleges. The home has built a close relationship with a local charity providing opportunities for voluntary work. Transport is provided for leisure, recreational, and educational trips.
