Overview of the role

You will be assisting the Home Manager in the operation of a residential care home. Your duties will include development, implementation and monitoring of individual care plans;assisting with staff supervision and administrative control; and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes of practice and legislation.

The position requires extensive knowledge, including supervisory experience from working in Adult Social Care. You will need to have a professional approach with the ability to organise and prioritise, and a good knowledge of relevant codes of practice and legislation.

Key duties

  • Identifying residents\’ emotional, physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and make appropriate decisions for action in consultation with the management team
  • Coordinatingand leading the staffing team, under the direction of the Home Manager
  • Supporting the Home Manager by effectively conducting inductions and supervisions
  • Conducting regular team meetings and delegatingresponsibilities amongst the team
  • Supporting the Home Manager in maintaining appropriate levels of staffing by planning and managing a rota
  • Supporting the Home Manager in managing the impact of absence
  • Ensuring staff are up to date with training
  • Actively assisting and supporting the Home Manager with investigations, disciplinaries andgrievances
  • Working in collaboration with other departments and homes within the Company
  • Conducting risk assessments for both staff and residents

Where will you work?

We provide flexible, individually-tailored supported living services for people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and associated complex needs. Our support packages range from a few hours a day to help with independent living skills, assist with shopping, cooking and personal care and provide access to resources in the community, right up to full-time, 24-7 specialist care. We work closely with local authority commissioners, care professionals and accommodation providers to support people with their own tenancy to live as independently as possible, while still being able to rely on the individual care and assistance they need. Just as in our residential homes, our supported living services are highly personalised, structured around the requirements, capabilities and preferences of the people we support.
