Job Description
Location: Choice Care, Suite 16, Blackburn Enterprise Centre, Furthergate
Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you a caring person who wants to do more?
Would you like to be trained to work in the care sector whilst being paid?
At Choice Care, we provide the best possible care and support for those that need it - including people coming to the end of life, those with dementia, sensory impairment, or physical difficulties – enabling our clients to live in their own homes with dignity and enjoy the best possible quality of life.
We are a Preferred Provider for BWD Social Services and Lancashire county council we also provide care for the CCG as well as private clients. We are a family business and have been providing care in the area for 26 years.
We support people from areas including Blackburn, Darwen, Accrington, Oswaldtwistle and Burnley and you will stay in one loacation throughout the night.
If you have no experience you will recieve the hourly rate of £12.25 per hour, you will be trained first of all in our classroom by our inhouse registered nurse and management team, and then be mentored one on one by one of our experienced qualified carers.
If you have at least 6 months caring experience you will recieve the hourly rate of 12.50 per hour.
If you already hold your NVQ level 2 or higher in Health & Social care, or once you achieve this your pay goes up to £13.00

Choice Care was founded in 1999 by husband and wife, Andrew and Fiona Key. With more than 70 years’ experience in the health and social care sector, Andrew and Fiona combined their background’s with a passion for delivering high-quality home care services in Lancashire along the M65 corridor, that bridge the gap between traditional home care and nursing.
Whether it’s working directly with private clients and their families or in partnership with social services, Clinical Commissioning Groups, solicitors and health professionals, we strive to provide the best possible care and support for some of the most vulnerable people in our community, tailoring our care services to meet their needs.
We work closely with organisations such as East Lancashire Hospice, the Stroke Association, Dementia UK, Parkinson’s UK and the MS Society to share resources and make sure our staff are up to date on the latest skills and training. Our team of dedicated carers are all vetted and trained to gain the qualifications they need to help them carve out a long-term career in care.
Company Culture
We provide induction training and carers must reach the required level of knowledge in each subject area.
They must also complete a number of shifts with a supervisor to make sure they’re competent at following care plans and delivering the required level of care.
New recruits will also be working on achieving their diploma/NVQ qualification in care, which takes between 6 and 9 months to complete.
