We are looking for carers to work in the Blackburn area on a rotating basis of 3 days in week one and four days in week two including weekends, 7am to 2pm and 4pm to 10pm, so you maintain a great work life balance and still generate a consistent income, which also helps ensure that you have consistent service users each week.
At Choice Care, we provide the best possible care and support for those that need it - including people coming to the end of life, those with dementia, sensory impairment, or physical difficulties – enabling our service users to live in their own homes with dignity and enjoy the best possible quality of life.
Having care experience would be an advantage, but if you don’t have any experience you will complete our induction training led by our registered nurse, Gill. The initial induction training, which is paid, takes around two weeks so you have to be available and committed to completing that training. Gill also manages the ongoing paid training with a training session each month in the first year of working for us.
We are a Preferred Provider for BWD Social Services and Lancashire County Council. We also provide care for the CCG as well as private clients. We are a family business and have been providing care in the area for 26 years.
Your pay rate will start at an hourly rate of £12.25 per hour. This will increase to £12.60 on completion of your 6 month probationary period. If you have an NVQ Level 2 or above in Adult Social Care, you will go straight onto £13.00 per hour.
You MUST be a driver with access to a car and able to work alternate weekends. Sorry, but we cannot accept applicants looking for sponsorships.
Benefits include:
- Paid travel time between service users
- Mileage at 35p/mile between service users
- Employer contributed pension scheme
- Paid training and funded care qualifications
- Opportunities for career progression

Skills Needed: People, Nursing / Caring
Choice Care was founded in 1999 by husband and wife, Andrew and Fiona Key. With more than 70 years’ experience in the health and social care sector, Andrew and Fiona combined their backgrounds with a passion for delivering high-quality home care services in Lancashire along the M65 corridor, bridging the gap between traditional home care and nursing.
Whether it’s working directly with private clients and their families or in partnership with social services, Clinical Commissioning Groups, solicitors and health professionals, we strive to provide the best possible care and support for some of the most vulnerable people in our community, tailoring our care services to meet their needs.
We work closely with organisations such as East Lancashire Hospice, the Stroke Association, Dementia UK, Parkinson’s UK and the MS Society to share resources and ensure our staff are up to date on the latest skills and training. Our team of dedicated carers are all vetted and trained to gain the qualifications they need to help them carve out a long-term career in care.
We provide induction training and carers must reach the required level of knowledge in each subject area. They must also complete a number of shifts with a supervisor to ensure they’re competent at following care plans and delivering the required level of care. New recruits will also be working on achieving their diploma/NVQ qualification in care, which takes between 6 and 9 months to complete.
If you’re passionate about making life better for society’s most vulnerable people we’d love to hear from you. We’re an equal opportunities employer and encourage applications from people with a drive to learn and progress in the care industry. We believe that being a carer is not just a job, it’s a vocation. As a family-run business, we’re looking to grow the team with like-minded people who share our values.
