The role consists of shift work and weekends on a rota basis.

Overview of the role
The role of the Senior Social Care Worker is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst making sure you always provide the highest level of care and lead by example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and have the willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Not only will you make a huge difference to people's lives, but you’ll be able to enjoy days out, trips away and join in with many more activities, all of which ensures the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.
Key duties
- Taking the lead with supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment
- Supervising a team and assisting with the overall management of the home
- Liaising with managers and other shift leaders
- Executing any tasks allocated in a professional, timely and accurate manner
- Supervising and sharing mealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining
- Assisting residents in their daily activities whether this be in or away from the home
- Using your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and with day-to-day tasks

Where will you work?
Stoke Lodge is a large, detached house, in a residential cul-de-sac, one mile from Basingstoke town centre. The home provides support for up to nine men of varying ages and range of learning disabilities, some with associated complex needs. To the side of the house is a dedicated building for day activities, including independence skills development, IT and computing and art and crafts. There is also a sensory area. The home has its own transport for local travel and leisure, recreational and educational outings further afield.
