Salary: £12.90 to £12.90 Hour

The role consists of shift work and weekends on a rota basis. Choice Care is offering a number of flexible positions to fit around your needs. We have a range of working patterns to suit you.

Overview of the role

The role of the Activity Coordinator is to support adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health disorders through developing, planning and implementing an activity programme for our residents, including social activities, outings and holidays, all according to their care plan and preferences.

Key duties

  • Plan, organise and coordinate an activities programme for each resident individually and in groups, according to their needs, interests and abilities.
  • Manage the activities budget allocated for the month.
  • Ensure equality of opportunities for all residents.
  • Assist the Positive Behaviour Support team with assessing residents' skills and abilities so that tailored activities can be planned.
  • Actively participate in scheduled activities.
  • Occasionally provide physical care and support to our residents in accordance with their care plan, respecting their dignity and preferences. Personal care includes bathing, toileting, dressing and help with feeding.
  • To safeguard and promote the welfare of the people we support.

Where will you work?

Linden Farm is a 10-bed supported living service for young adults with a diagnosis of Autism and Learning Disabilities. Located in the village of Alfold, near Cranleigh, and set in extensive grounds, the service consists of 5 individual apartments and 5 beds located in generous communal surroundings. Residents at Linden Farm engage in an extensive activities program which includes horse riding, swimming, bowling, and a range of other outdoor and indoor pursuits. They are supported by a team consisting of Social Care Workers, Activities coordinators and a small team of drivers. Parents and families play a pivotal role in engaging with the Linden Farm team to provide a comprehensive support structure for residents.
