Overview Of The Role

Key duties

  • Providing personal care - including bathing, toileting, dressing and help with feeding
  • Medication administration
  • Assisting and getting involved in residents' daily activities, hobbies or outings
  • Following care plan guidance alongside Company policies and procedures
  • Developing an open, honest, and considerate working relationship with residents
  • Maintaining written daily records
  • Attending and completing training, as required

Where will you work?

Heronsmede is a spacious, detached home, with an integrated bungalow, in Old Windsor near to the River Thames, three miles from both Staines and Windsor town centres. The home provides support for eight residents with moderate to severe learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs, all of whom are non-verbal. Heronsmede has its own Day Activity Coordinator, who develops individual and group activity programmes, including music and arts and crafts, which are tailored to individual needs. Residents also have access to nearby community, leisure and educational facilities, including local colleges, shops, parks, leisure centre, stables for horse riding, pubs and restaurants. As well as regular public transport, the home has its own vehicle for local travel and trips further afield.
