Hours: 48 Salary: £30,326.40 to £30,825.60 Annum (Salary based on a 48-hour contract. Overview of the role The role of the Senior Social Care Worker is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst making sure you always provide the highest level of care and lead by example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and have the willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Key duties Taking the lead with supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment Supervising a team and assisting with the overall management of the home Liaising with managers and other shift leaders Executing any tasks allocated in a professional, timely and accurate manner Supervising and sharing mealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining Assisting residents in their daily activities whether this be in or away from the home Using your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and with day-to-day tasks Personal attributes Being patient, reliable, flexible, a team player and a good communicator are key characteristics of a successful Senior Social Care Worker. Elliott House is a large, detached house in Fleet, Hampshire, five minutes\’ walk from the town centre. The home provides residential support to nine men and women of varying ages with moderate to severe learning disabilities and associated complex needs. There is plenty of communal space including a large shared lounge, a dining room, kitchen and a conservatory that leads out to a safe, secure garden with a summer house. In the back garden a separate building has been adapted for sensory activities, arts and crafts, IT and computing, education and music, and also has a second lounge. A fully-equipped kitchen also allows residents to develop their food preparation and cooking skills. Elliot House is ideally situated, close to shops, pubs and local facilities, with Fleet railway station close by. It\’s a lively home, with lots going on. Residents enjoy bowling, swimming, going to the cinema and the theatre, visiting social clubs and going out for meals.
