Base pay range: £12.90 to £13.10 per hour (a higher range is offered to applicants with qualifications in health and social care). The role consists of shift work and weekends on a rota basis. We offer flexible positions to fit around your needs, with a range of working patterns.

Overview Of The Role

The role of the Senior Social Care Worker is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst ensuring the highest level of care and leading by example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home, reporting any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and a willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. You’ll help people lead fulfilling lives, with opportunities to enjoy days out and activities.

Key duties

  • Take the lead with supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment.
  • Supervise a team and assist with the overall management of the home.
  • Liaise with managers and other shift leaders.
  • Execute tasks allocated in a professional, timely and accurate manner.
  • Supervise and share mealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining.
  • Assist residents in their daily activities both in and away from the home.
  • Use your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and day‑to‑day tasks.

Where will you work?

Fearnley House is a large bungalow‑style property in Old Windsor, a short distance from Staines and Windsor town centres. The home offers residential support for four men and women of varying ages with moderate to severe learning disabilities, physical disabilities and associated complex needs, all of whom are currently non‑verbal. In the garden there is a separate day service summer house used for a range of individual and group activities, including arts and crafts, reflexology and music therapy. The home also has its own specially‑designed transport for outings to the cinema, the theatre, Thames Valley Activity Park and other local theme parks and attractions.
