Job Description An exciting opportunity has arisen within this Fire Service's Prevention Department for a Volunteer Coordinator, based in Rotherham, with agile working arrangements available. Volunteer Coordinator Hybrid working + South Yorkshire Travel Hours: Part Time – 14.8 hours per week over 2 days. Contract: Permanent Salary: £32,061 – £34,434 per annum (Grade 6) *To increase subject to national pay award negotiations for 2026. (£This is a rewarding role at the heart of the Service's prevention work, where you will lead and develop their volunteer programme, helping to create safer, stronger and more resilient communities. Volunteers play a vital role in delivering community safety initiatives, supporting vulnerable people and helping the organisation reach communities across South Yorkshire. As Volunteer Coordinator, you will ensure they have the support, training and opportunities they need to make a real impact. You will also help identify and create new volunteering opportunities, work closely with community partners, and promote volunteering across the organisation and wider community. You will have experience of working with local communities and engaging with people from vulnerable groups, alongside excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills. Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on volunteer activities and programme performance. Ensuring all volunteer activities operate in line with safeguarding, EDI and organisational policies. Developing and reviewing volunteering policies, procedures and quality standards. Building strong relationships with internal teams, community organisations and external partners. The employer offers 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays. Annual leave increases after 5 years’ service to 32 days, followed by an extra day a year up to a maximum of 37 days.
