About The Role

Our client has a fantastic opportunity for someone with the drive, skills and experience to support schools taking part in Generation Wild, their nature connection programme for primary schools, children and families in disadvantaged areas. This ground‑breaking project uses story, music, art, performance and puppetry to create a sense of magic and adventure, engaging a wide range of children irrespective of background or ability. You will be joining the organisation at an exciting moment, as they launch in‑person support for the first time – bringing an inspiring programme of nature‑connection activities to school grounds and local nature spaces.

Experience & Responsibilities

  • Support schools in delivering the Generation Wild programme.
  • Design and deliver inspiring nature‑connection activities for primary‑age children and their families.
  • Coordinate and enthuse volunteers to support delivery of activities.
  • Travel to schools within a one‑hour distance of Burscough as required.
  • Use IT (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to plan, record and report activity outcomes.
  • Engage with schools to understand their needs and help navigate the pressures teachers face.
  • Ensure all activities are inclusive and accessible to children from all backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification (or equivalent) or substantial relevant experience.
  • Current driving licence.
  • Passion and experience in connecting young people and families with nature.
  • Experience working with children, ideally in a school or informal learning setting.
  • Strong understanding of how schools operate and the pressures teachers face.
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Additional Information

This post will be based in Burscough but will require frequent travel to schools within a one‑hour distance; travel costs will be reimbursed. Initially a one‑year contract; potential extension in line with programme funding. Appointment contingent on an enhanced disclosure and barred list check (child). Closing date: Monday 11th May 2026.
