Senior Stockperson – Mat Cover

Salary: £28,796 per annum
Contract type: Fixed term / Working hours: Full time

This will be a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave. Hours will be Monday-Friday and one weekend in four.

This wildlife trust is looking for a Senior Stock Person (Mat Cover) to oversee the conservation grazing operation across their nature reserves and balance the conservation objectives of these sites with animal welfare requirements

The trust is the county\’s largest environmental charity, committed to the protection and enhancement of Norfolk\’s wildlife and wild places.

The successful candidate will have a good practical knowledge of livestock (cattle, sheep, ponies and goats) welfare and legislation. They will oversee the conservation grazing operation across the charity\’s nature reserves and balance the conservation objectives of these sites with animal welfare requirements. They will form part of an on-call rota, including working the weekend, covering one week in four. Good people skills are just as important as livestock knowledge; they will work as part of a small team and have daily interactions with reserve-based staff and visitors.
