About the role
We are now hiring an Engineering Manager to lead and support the delivery of major capital expenditure (Capex) projects through a team of Engineering Project Managers, Senior Project Engineers and Project Engineers, alongside external partners where required. This role also includes Capex management of multi-disciplined projects under its governance, ensuring budgets are correct, maintained and correctly phased from a cash perspective. You will also provide Mechanical Engineering technical leadership and authority and support the successful delivery of engineering projects and standards.
What you will do
- Project management: Ensuring the top spend Capex project for the respective areas is well managed by their Senior Project Engineering Managers, Senior Project Engineers and Project Engineers.
- Ensure Project briefs are clearly compiled before assignment to Project Managers, signed off by project sponsor.
- Support the resourcing of project teams with the skills, expertise and resources required for successful delivery.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, effectively and within agreed timelines and budgets across the region.
- Act as Engineering Project Manager when required.
- Responsible that reported Capex required is covered by outcome of required studies in respect to the project phase (e.g. FEED, detailed design).
- Align with key stakeholders to coordinate requested inputs into Capex plan for required area.
- Track progress and monitor costs of ongoing projects.
Team management
- Support the professional, technical and interpersonal development of team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development for yourself and the wider team.
- Moderate global interaction with other regional teams.
Technical Leadership
- Work in collaboration with Global Engineering team on implementation of global standards as required.
- Define and maintain engineering standards while providing technical expertise, coaching and support within your discipline.
Your skills and background
- Degree qualified & Chartered Mechanical Engineer or sufficient experience to achieve.
- Significant experience leadership of teams in engineering and capital projects within a manufacturing, industrial or related environment.
- Experience developing and delivering strategic engineering plans.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Experience managing budgets, project expenditure and risk within complex projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and teams.
- Commitment to continuous learning and supporting the development of others.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage a range of stakeholders.
