This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. Our 1,600‑strong team spans 27 sites, committed to preserving Scotch heritage and driving sustainability. The operations function covers procurement, conversion (distillation, maturation), manufacturing, bottling, and downstream supply chain.
Your unique contribution as an Electrical Technician will include:
- Equipment Reliability and Compliance – Service, fault find, repair and test all electrical equipment at Kennington Distillery; assist with mechanical equipment; record work in the asset management system.
- Projects and Planning – Proactively coordinate maintenance and repair activities; support electrical aspects of project scopes, installations, testing and hand‑over.
- Inspections – Conduct hazardous area inspections of electrical equipment, complete remedial works, install or replace ATEX equipment; perform non‑hazardous inspections in line with national and company standards.
- Distillery Support – Provide out‑of‑hours maintenance when necessary to support day‑to‑day operations and cover engineering on non‑production days.
Who you’ll be working with: Internally, you will work closely with the on‑site Maintenance team, Production team, Education Centre team, Projects team and support the Plymouth distillery maintenance team as required. Externally, you will manage contractors, issue permits, provide electrical isolations and supervise or assist where needed.
Your blend of talent includes being a time‑served Electrician with knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and relevant Compex Ex01‑Ex04 (Gas) & Ex05‑Ex06 (Dust) certificates, or willingness to obtain them. Experience in a maintenance‑focused role with Process Control systems is essential.
