Chisholm Bookmakers is a family run business established in the 1950s with 32 betting shops located throughout the North East of England and Cumbria. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Text Operator to join our Studio team based at our Company Head Office in Ashington. Within this role, you will be assisting the team to maintain and operate the retail and interactive data systems. The opportunity will also be available to carry out tasks in our audio department to ensure the efficient operation of our shop broadcast by providing our customers with betting and sporting information. A good knowledge of sports and betting practices would be an asset, however full training will be given.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To assist with the data entry of betting events.
  • To assist with the data entry of results and settlement of betting events.
  • To assist with the content and display of the screen system.
  • To assist with the monitoring of betting markets.
  • To assist with queries and referrals from betting office staff, staff from other company internal departments and external customers.
  • Operate equipment and software to broadcast betting and sporting information.

Requirements:

  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Highly organised.
  • Computer / Software skills.
  • Data input accuracy.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to work both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Working Pattern:

Part time 25 hours per week. The Studio team work on a shift system which will include working evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Our starting rate of pay is £12.96 per hour, rising to £13.16 after training. Applicants must be aged 18 or over.
