Hours of Work & Pay & Benefits
- Full Time - Permanent
- 5 day working week - Monday to Friday 37 hours per week.
- £17.97 - £20.24 plus shift allowance £5.99 - £6.74 per hour for standard machinists.
- Flexibility on start and finish times.
- Three work patterns available (night shift, day shift or rotation).
- Overtime available paid at time and a half, then double time over 48 hours.
- Up to 12 weeks company sick pay.
- On site gym.
Key responsibilities
- Setting up and operating CNC turning machines including NLX and NLC sub-spindle lathes.
- Program, set and operate using DMG Mori Celos control.
- Monitoring and adjusting machine settings to maintain optimal cutting performance.
- Producing complex turned components with tight tolerances.
- Use of live tooling, driven tooling and multi-axis machining techniques.
- Inspecting finished components using precision measurement equipment.
- Troubleshooting machine, tooling and programme issues.
- Supporting continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Ensuring safety and compliance with company procedures.
What you need for the role
- Proven experience in CNC turning (multi-axis preferred).
- Experience operating DMG Mori machines with CELOS control.
- Experience with NLX and/or NLX sub-spindle machines is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of tooling, feeds/speeds and machining strategies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
