At Chirton Engineering, we design, manufacture, and service bespoke equipment, vessels, precision components and remote handling systems alongside providing specialist engineering services in the Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, Motorsport, Pharmaceutical and Renewable industries.
- Full time - Permanent
- 5 day working week - Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
- £20.24 to £23.00 plus shift allowance of £7.65 for experienced machinists with proven background
- Work pattern of two weeks days/nights on rotation
- Overtime available paid at time and a half, then double time over 48 hours
- Up to 12 weeks company sick pay
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting up and operating CNC machines: Prepare the machine for the specific task, program the machine, and oversee the operation.
- Monitoring and adjusting machine settings: Ensure that the machine is working at optimal efficiency and quality.
- Inspecting finished products for accuracy and quality: Check the finished product to ensure it meets the required specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues with CNC machines: Identify and fix any problems with the machine, such as mechanical issues or programming errors.
- Collaborating with engineers to optimize manufacturing processes: Work closely with engineers to improve the manufacturing process, which can include optimizing machine settings, improving tooling, and implementing new machining strategies.
Requirements:
- Previous experience and skills in a CNC milling role.
- Knowledge of CNC machinery, tooling, and precision measurement tools.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong math skills.
Successful applicants will be subject to a basic DBS check. The company provides an industry leading compensation package.
