Are you a skilled Multi Axis CNC Miller with Maztrol or Siemens experience looking for an exciting opportunity? As a CNC Miller, you'll play a crucial role in our production process, ensuring precision and quality in every component we create. At Chirton Engineering, we design, manufacture, and service bespoke equipment, vessels, precision components and remote handling systems alongside providing specialist engineering services in the Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, Motorsport, Pharmaceutical and Renewable industries.

  • Full time - Permanent
  • 5 day working week - Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
  • £20.24 to £23.00 plus shift allowance of £7.65 for experienced machinists with proven background
  • Work pattern of two weeks days/nights on rotation
  • Overtime available paid at time and a half, then double time over 48 hours
  • Up to 12 weeks company sick pay

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up and operating CNC machines: Prepare the machine for the specific task, program the machine, and oversee the operation.
  • Monitoring and adjusting machine settings: Ensure that the machine is working at optimal efficiency and quality.
  • Inspecting finished products for accuracy and quality: Check the finished product to ensure it meets the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with CNC machines: Identify and fix any problems with the machine, such as mechanical issues or programming errors.
  • Collaborating with engineers to optimize manufacturing processes: Work closely with engineers to improve the manufacturing process, which can include optimizing machine settings, improving tooling, and implementing new machining strategies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience and skills in a CNC milling role.
  • Knowledge of CNC machinery, tooling, and precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong math skills.

Successful applicants will be subject to a basic DBS check. The company provides an industry leading compensation package.
