Chirton Engineering Ltd are looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to ensure the dimensional accuracy, conformity, and overall quality of manufactured components throughout the production process. The Quality Inspector will play a key role in maintaining quality standards by carrying out inspections at various stages of manufacture, recording results, and supporting production teams in resolving quality issues. This position is essential in ensuring that all products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements.

Hours of Work, Pay & Benefits:
- Full Time, Permanent
- Monday to Friday (37 hours per week)
- Competitive salary (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out dimensional and visual inspections of components at in-process and final stages.
- Use a range of inspection equipment including CMM, micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and gauges.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including tolerances and surface finish requirements.
- Complete inspection reports and accurately record results in line with company procedures.
- Identify non-conformances and support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure all inspection activities comply with company quality standards and procedures.
- Support internal and external audits where required.
- Maintain inspection equipment and ensure it is calibrated and fit for use.
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
What You Need for the Role:
- Previous experience in a Quality Inspector role within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in CMM Programming using MCOSMOS software.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of measurement techniques and inspection tools.
- Awareness of quality standards such as AS9100 / ISO 9001.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
