R&D Project Engineer with LabVIEW experience

We are looking for an experienced R&D engineer with a background in instrumentation, with relevant hands-on experience building and/or verifying measuring instruments. You will join the systems team, where you will participate in the functional verification (testing) of a newly developed innovative PCR setup.
You can take ownership of one or more modules in the setup: such as mechanical structure, hardware controls, optics, heater, control software or others. Your experience and scientific mindset help you to identify the tests to run. You will work close with people in other teams such as the assay development team or the product development team. When needed, you will make modifications of the instruments or of the control software.
The assignment includes:
- Verification of an innovative PCR setup: setting-up protocols, running tests, overlooking verification.
- Make changes to the devices (in cooperation with the development partners) and software if required.
- Help design and build test setups and prototypes.
- Manage your work and report on progress.
Required knowledge and skills
- You have experience with hardware development and/or verification, such as electrical or embedded systems;
- You have experience with instrument software development, such as Python or LabVIEW;
- You have a hands-on, can-do mentality and like to work in a close team;
- Experience with lab devices or instrument building is a plus;
- Experience in a R&D setting, working with prototypes instruments is a plus.
