Chippindale Plant is one of the largest privately owned plant hire and sales companies in the North of England with 6 depots. Established in 1949, it provides a complete hire and sales service for a wide range of Construction Plant, Tools, Excavator Attachments and Secure Site Accommodation.
Job Purpose
Working in our Sheffield depot ensuring that the yard is kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored in its designated area, checking over machines once off-hired, re-fuelling and washing off and cleaning inside the cabs. The driving role will involve driving a small van to deliver or collect small plant and equipment.
Key skills & Duties
- Moving machinery from/to the loading bays for drivers and customers
- Ensure the yard and storage facilities is clean and well maintained
- Ensure the yard is up to date with health and safety and environmental compliance
- Organisation of machinery in the yard and removing waste
- Supporting the workshop staff with movement of machinery
- Use of FLT to move equipment around the yard
- Driving delivering light plant equipment to customers
This job involves working outside in all conditions and includes a lot of manual labour. Experience moving & operating construction equipment or a fork truck is beneficial, and a full driving licence is required.
