Purpose of the Role: To maximise revenue growth and customer retention through a combination of proactive outbound sales, responsive account management, and strong liaison with depots. The role supports structured pricing, commercial discipline, and high service levels helping to deliver profitable growth across the hire fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Account Management
- Handle incoming enquiries and convert them into confirmed hires
- Proactively contact dormant, lapsed, and low-spending customers to re-engage and grow revenue
- Manage a portfolio of accounts while also supporting the wider customer base
- Promote package deals and upsell opportunities (e.g. attachments, long-term hire discounts)
- Identify opportunities for increased spend through cross-hire alternatives and availability checks
- Apply structured pricing based on spend tiers and market sensitivity
- Escalate pricing outside of approved rate cards to the Sales Manager for authorisation
- Ensure all orders are commercially viable and aligned with depot availability
- Coordinate with depot teams to confirm stock availability and delivery schedules
- Support depots with backlog management and follow-up on overdue returns/off-hires
- Escalate supply issues and availability challenges that risk lost revenue
- Use the company CRM to track customer interactions, tasks and opportunities
- Accurately log all quotes, customer preferences, and follow-ups
- Monitor customer spend trends and flag risks or growth opportunities
- Ensure all contracts are compliant and align with credit limits and internal procedures
