Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Person to join our team in Huddersfield, England. This permanent, full-time position is essential for maintaining the efficiency and organisation of our yard operations within the plant hire industry. The Yard Person will play a crucial role in ensuring that machines and equipment are properly handled and stored, contributing to the overall success of our business.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the loading and unloading of machines and equipment from vehicles.
- Organise and maintain the yard area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report any discrepancies.
- Ensure that all tools, machinery and equipment are stored correctly and are in good working condition.
- Support the delivery team by preparing materials for dispatch.
- Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- No formal education required; however, GCSEs in Maths and English are advantageous.
- Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
