The HR Generalist (mat leave cover) will provide day-to-day support across the full employee lifecycle, acting as the first point of contact for HR inquiries. This role combines hands-on HR administration with advisory responsibilities, ensuring employees and managers receive accurate guidance while supporting the delivery of key HR processes such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
Working arrangement – Monday & Friday remote / Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday on-site at Chipotle’s London Head Office (Covent Garden) or in various restaurants.
Begin as soon as possible through January 31. The ideal candidate will be excited to jump in and make a quick impact.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- HR Support & Advisory – act as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries, providing timely and accurate advice. Provide guidance on policies, procedures, and best practice, escalating complex matters as required. Guide & empower managers on available resources.
- Recruitment – manage job postings, support restaurant-level candidate screening, and ensure managers have what they need to provide an excellent onboarding experience.
- Employee Relations – guide managers on handling employee relations issues such as absence, misconduct, performance, and grievance cases. Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant handling of cases. Provide shoulder-to-shoulder coaching to managers and support conversations in person as needed.
- HR Administration & Compliance – maintain employee records and HR systems with accuracy and confidentiality. Conduct regular internal audits of employee records including RTW checks, employment contracts, and review of student working hours. Assist managers in troubleshooting HR system issues.
- Projects & Continuous Improvement – Support execution of all HR initiatives, including enhancements to HR policies, processes, and compliance practices. Build & facilitate training on process changes. Support culture-building and wellbeing initiatives and be a change champion.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- Experience in an HR Generalist, HR Advisor or similar role
- Working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CIPD qualification level 3 is preferred but not required
