As Kitchen Leader, you will learn how to prepare great food, grill meats, and sauté vegetables. You are responsible for ensuring our food is absolutely delicious, ordering supplies, and training others to become future Kitchen Leaders. The Kitchen Leader helps maintain quality and safety of Chipotle’s food, keeps the kitchen clean, organized and well stocked, and ensures equipment is maintained. They serve as role models for crew and promote teamwork and great customer experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, following kitchen procedures.
  • Monitoring food waste and inventory levels, resolving food quality issues.
  • Supporting a strong team dynamic between back‑of‑house crew and front‑of‑house crew.
  • Developing crew members into future Kitchen Leaders.
  • Communicating with crew members and customers effectively to ensure great service and throughput.
  • Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair; repairing malfunctioning equipment promptly.
  • Ensuring that the kitchen and all crew members meet the necessary safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents.
  • Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and ensuring Inventory Rotation (FIFO).
