We are looking for a Product Manager to own and drive our Pension proposition. You will lead our newly launched Pension proposition and work within a cross-functional pod spanning engineering, design, ops, and compliance. You will be accountable for the end-to-end Pension product: from shaping the roadmap to driving delivery and iterating on outcomes.
What you can expect to be doing:
- Own and drive the Pension product roadmap from concept to delivery with a clear view on what will move the needle for customers and the business.
- Work closely with leadership to agree the strategy for Pension.
- Lead ideation and concept refinement and define requirements with a dedicated engineering and design partner, making fast, well-reasoned product decisions.
- Work in our AI-native product development lifecycle, leveraging AI tools actively in how you research, prototype, spec, and iterate.
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships across operations, risk, compliance, commercial, and senior leadership, communicating clearly and building alignment.
- Define and own success metrics for the Pension proposition, using data to identify opportunities and course-correct quickly.
- Coordinate third-party provider relationships relevant to the Pension product (e.g. SIPP providers, platform integrations).
What we’re looking for:
- The most important thing is mindset. We want someone with drive, conviction, and a positive, problem-solving attitude.
- A natural driver: proactive, self-starting, and energised by ownership rather than daunted by it.
- Opinionated about product: you form views based on evidence, communicate them with confidence, and back them up when challenged.
- A problem-solver who leans in: when given a problem, you can break it down, frame options, and recommend a path forward.
- Positive and resilient: you bring constructive energy to ambiguous and challenging situations, and you make the people around you better.
- Decisive under uncertainty: you are comfortable making calls without perfect information and own the outcomes.
Product skills:
- Product management experience, ideally in a scale-up or high-growth environment.
- Strong product craft: you understand customers deeply, write sharp requirements, make considered UX decisions, ship quality at pace, and know how to manage and prioritise opportunities and problems to solve in a flexible way.
- Data-driven: you use data to spot problems and validate solutions, and you set meaningful success metrics from day one.
- Commercially minded: you keep revenue, cost, and business model implications front of mind in every product decision.
- AI curious: you use AI tools actively in your day-to-day product process and see them as a genuine advantage, not a novelty.
Domain knowledge (nice to have):
- Experience in fintech, with strong preference for investments, wealth management, or pension products.
- Familiarity with the UK pension landscape, including SIPP products and pension transfers.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment relevant to pensions (FCA-regulated products, consumer duty, etc.) is a plus, though not essential from day one.
Stakeholder and communication skills:
- Comfortable presenting and aligning with senior leadership, including at exec level.
- Able to navigate operations, compliance, risk, legal, and commercial stakeholders without losing pace or momentum.
- Clear, direct communicator — written and verbal — who can adapt their style to different audiences.
What we’re really looking for:
We’re looking for someone who’s genuinely excited about Chip and energised by the opportunity to help build the future of wealth, making saving, investing and pensions simpler and more accessible for everyone. We work in a regulated space, so the bar is high. But we’ve built a team of smart, thoughtful people who care about doing great work and enjoy doing it together. Technical skills matter, obviously. But they’re not the only thing we hire for. We want real people. People with interests, perspective and personality. The best teams are made up of individuals who bring different experiences into the room, not just polished CVs and good interview answers. So alongside the technical side, we’ll be looking for empathy, self-awareness, sound judgement, resilience and a collaborative mindset. People who are good to work with, especially when things get hard.
