We are looking for a very talented and dedicated Backend QA Engineer to help us build out a world-beating feature set. Joining our engineering team, you’ll be responsible for testing new front-end, REST API backend features and microservices manually as required and identified at planning sessions to help us continue to deliver a great product to our customers and grow the company.
What you can expect to be doing:
- Collaborating with a cross-functional team: Work closely with Backend and Frontend Engineers, developers, and other specialists to maintain a quality-first mindset.
- Defining and executing test strategies: Identify test scenarios, create detailed test cases, and document results effectively.
- Championing quality: Be the QA evangelist, promoting best practices within and beyond your team.
- Driving test automation: Contribute to a shift-left approach by building automation journeys using an OOP-based framework.
- Exploring performance testing: Learn and develop performance testing strategies to ensure system efficiency.
- Owning test estimation & reporting: Accurately estimate testing efforts, track progress, report status, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Enhancing CI/CD visibility: Integrate automated tests into CI tooling (GitLab) and generate reports for better visibility.
- Managing defects proactively: Document software faults and work closely with developers until release readiness.
- Executing manual testing: Perform detailed exploratory and functional manual testing using industry-standard techniques.
What we’re looking for:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in backend QA testing, with a strong focus on automation and troubleshooting to deliver high-quality results.
- Proven experience in testing and automating APIs, integrations, and system behaviour in both microservices and monolithic architectures.
- Strong knowledge of at least one programming language, preferably JavaScript or TypeScript, with the ability to create efficient and effective automation tests.
- Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated tests into workflows, and managing deployments.
- Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks such as feature tickets, automation, technical tasks, and maintenance, while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
- Deep understanding of testing methodologies, automation strategies, and defect management. Proactive in identifying issues and ensuring the end goals are met. Willing to speak up and advocate for quality.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in both the application and test environments efficiently.
- Basic knowledge or experience in performance testing and understanding performance bottlenecks.
- Experience in testing mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.

Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
