We’re looking for a Data Analyst to deep dive into our data and generate insights that will inform critical financial and strategic decisions. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and talented self-starter, who thrives in a fast-moving scale-up environment, working closely with our CEO, SVP Finance, Head of FP&A and other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate is highly analytical with a background in Data & Analytics (Finance is a plus). You will have 1-2 years experience, be comfortable manipulating large datasets, and have the ability to code in Python and SQL. We are looking for someone who can work independently, think strategically and take ownership of analysis to generate valuable insights across Finance, Commercial and Operational domains.
Responsibilities
- Use SQL to code and query the database in order to provide inputs for key business and financial models
- Clean, validate and transform large datasets, ensuring data integrity and readiness for analysis and reporting
- Analyse large datasets to provide insights for the company and answer complex problems
- Build and maintain dashboards (using PowerBI) for management to track real-time performance, growth, unit economics, KPIs and other metrics
- Strategic thinking using a data-led approach to recommend key business decisions
What we’re looking for
- A strong numerical degree (2:1 or above) in mathematics, engineering, computer science, finance or another related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
- 1-2 years experience in a Data & Analytics role, preferably within Financial services
- Excellent Excel and SQL skills, and proficiency in Python, PowerBI and other BI tools
- Ability to manipulate large datasets, build dashboards and analyse results
- Ability to translate problems into technical requirements and implement solutions
- Ability to take ownership of projects and enjoy working in a fast moving FinTech
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Python is desirable
- You have worked in a tech environment before or have a strong interest in FinTech (think challenger banks, crypto and app-based investing)
What we’re really looking for
Someone with a genuine interest in Chip and is excited about being part of a fast-growing company and our mission to build the investment super app of the future. Although we’re in the financial space, and under the scrutiny that comes with it, the current operations team works well together, and even sometimes with a smile. We’re sure you’ve got the technical skills, otherwise, you would have stopped reading by now, so let us be clear on what will make us want to work with you. We want a real person, with interests outside of work, to join our team. You could be a dancer, a gamer, a musician, a parent, a hockey fan, or even that one person that still writes Twilight fan-fiction. Doesn’t matter to us. At the interview stages, we will be looking for empathy, eq, fun stories, and the ability to smile even when things are tough.
