We’re looking for an accountant (qualified or part qualified) to join our Finance team as a Finance Accountant, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, smooth month-end close processes, and timely reporting. You’ll manage core accounting activities - from payables, receivables, and reconciliations to payroll and statutory compliance - while supporting the FC in driving process improvements, audit readiness, and operational efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part qualified accountant with at least one year of industry experience who’s looking to broaden their skills.

What you can expect to be doing:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring all transactions are processed correctly and in line with accounting standards.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, payments, and collections.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal postings, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Provide variance analysis and commentary, including liaising with both the wider finance team and functional teams across the business.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, maintaining robust documentation and supporting control reviews.
  • Process payroll and ensure salaries are paid accurately and on time, addressing any queries or issues as they arise.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory filing requirements, maintaining appropriate records and controls.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, helping streamline accounting workflows, strengthen controls, and enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments, providing clear and timely financial information to support business operations and decision-making.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • At least 1 year of industry experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of financial reporting and controls.
  • Experience across general ledger management, reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting systems (e.g. Xero, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in fintech, banking, or other regulated financial services environments.
  • Familiarity with R&D tax credit processes or audit preparation.
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, and scaling finance operations in a growing business.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Start your weekend early!)
