About the Role
As a domiciliary care assistant, you will provide person-centred support to our service users in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting service users with personal care, including washing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration
- Providing medication reminders and assistance where required
- Helping with light housekeeping and domestic tasks
- Supporting mobility and safe movement around the home
- Offering companionship and emotional support
- Accompanying service users to appointments and social activities
- Maintaining accurate care records and reporting any changes in condition
Requirements
- Female applicants only (due to the personal nature of care duties, this role is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1)
- Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle
- Must be based in or able to travel within the Waltham Forest area
- Right to work in the UK
- A caring, patient, and compassionate nature
- Good communication skills and reliability
- Previous care experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check or have one on the update service
