Key responsibilities:
- Supplement and update the basic information in our databases.
- Assist in cleaning up and classifying primary data to ensure accuracy and usability.
- Serve as a programmer in data analysis projects utilizing Python-based tools.
- Adjust and manipulate data to meet specific analytical needs.
- Integrate historical data and establish separate databases using Microsoft Access.
- Assist analysts in designing logical principles for data processing and analysis.
- Research external data sources that align with the analyst’s requirements.
- Support internal data analysis with market benchmarks and economic environment insights.
- Assist analysts in building models for market forecasting, including revenue and pricing predictions.
- Utilize programming languages such as Python and R for data analysis and model building.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the line manager to support the data analysis team.
- Assist with calculating business performance and provide training to colleagues.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong interest in data analysis, market research, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, formulas, pivot tables, and basic reporting.
- Familiarity with Python for data processing and analysis. Experience with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, or similar tools would be an advantage.
- Basic understanding of databases and data management principles. Experience with Microsoft Access, SQL, or other database tools is desirable.
- Ability to collect, organize, clean, and validate large volumes of data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data.
- Knowledge of market analysis, business performance analysis, forecasting, or statistical modelling would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with R, Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization and analytical tools would be considered an advantage.
- Good research skills with the ability to gather and evaluate information from external sources.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain data findings clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Chinese language skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
