Responsibilities
- Provide third line support to resolve user or system related issues
- Using knowledge of networking, support internal and external networks: VPN setup, DNS, AP management, firewall configuration, DHCP, ARP, network adapter configuration, physical and virtual switches, etc. Detailed understanding of external connectivity paths, third‑party relationships, SLAs, performance monitoring, mapping network connections, configurations and data flows, database connectivity and file transfer protocols
- Manage telephony system and third parties; consider strategic direction to take over communications, emerging technologies and compatibility with existing systems
- Support IT security: ensure alerting systems functioning; configure endpoint protection, keep client and server software up to date and manage exceptions; approve and perform Windows updates on servers; employ principle of least privilege on user administration tasks; ensure web and email filtering; design vulnerability scans and determine action; detailed knowledge of firewall configuration and event investigation
- Perform various systems administration functions: maintain and update automated tools for package deployments; server build and design, server hardening; ensure licensing in place; manage certificates (design, creation, purchase/renewal); full management of virtual backup and replication technology; maintain Hyper‑V environment including storage on‑premise and cloud; automate data extraction; support core systems and databases; backup and restore; upgrades and testing; support third‑party applications; resolve user and system issues at third line; maintain security of applications via patching, updates, best practices, password policy, etc.
- Key point of integration for applications between provider and business; stay up‑to‑date on strategic direction of third‑party applications and align with company strategy; provide direction on software deployment requirements; assess requirements and patch third‑party applications on a timely basis; roadmap and strategy for third‑party applications; design and manage projects to implement change within IT department and business; perform backup and restore testing; be responsible for audit visits, supplying information and discussing issues; other IT related tasks as required by Head of IT & Business Chang
Qualifications
- Proven track record of effective incident, request and problem management
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, RDP, AD, MS Exchange, Hyper‑V, VMware, PowerShell
- Strong understanding of WAN and LAN networking
- Strong working knowledge of System Centre 2012 including operations and virtual machine manager
- Experience building and maintaining development environments
- Prefer speaking both English and Chinese
