A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance team at the China Fleet Country Club which is set in 180 acres of beautiful Cornish countryside, just 15 minutes from Plymouth’s city centre. We are a Country Club that offers accommodation, fitness & leisure, golf, dining, hair & beauty, weddings, conferences and events.
As one of our Maintenance Operatives you will manage repairs and maintenance across our Club inside and out to a consistently high level in a timely fashion. Maintaining our essential plant and equipment, which is vital to the running of the Club, minimising any downtime. Duties will include but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical tasks, tiling, painting and decorating. No two days are the same.
You will be working 3 days per week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 1 Saturday in 4 with a day off during the week. Shifts are 8am to 4pm, and there may be the occasional requirement of starting earlier, finishing later or working during the night which you will be compensated for. This position will also cover for holidays taken by our other maintenance operatives and any sickness on Tuesdays, Thursdays and possibly Saturdays all of which might come at short notice.
You will be required to:
- Have a good knowledge of Plumbing/Carpentry/Wall Tiling/Decorating skills/Basic electrical repairs and be able to differentiate between parts in our stores.
- Work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively with both the public and work colleagues.
- Be fully familiar with and adhere to Health and Safety, fire regulations, lone working, and environmental considerations.
- Have a positive disposition and a friendly approach.
The successful candidate will have good proven experience working within the field of maintenance and repairs. You must also have a keen attention to detail and the ability to take initiative when tackling problems and prepared for rare out of hours call in an emergency. An electrical qualification, knowledge and experience of pool plant equipment, water and sewage treatment plants and HVAC would be an advantage, although these are not essential as training will be given.
