Launched in 1997, the China Daily Hong Kong Edition offers a unique local perspective that has become essential reading for decision makers, including HKSAR government officials, CEOs and senior executives, scholars and academics in Hong Kong and Macau. The China Daily Hong Kong Edition is recognized by both the newspaper industry and readers for its exceptional journalism and outstanding reporting. China Daily was a frequent winner at the most recent “Hong Kong News Awards” organized by the Newspaper Society of Hong Kong. Since 2010, The Hong Kong Edition has been honored every year at the “Hong Kong News Awards”, winning a current total of 153 awards.
In order to manage the development and its integrated revenue growth across China Daily media products, we are now looking for qualified candidates in Hong Kong to fill the following position:
Responsibilities- Translate articles from Chinese to English.
- Translate articles from English to Chinese.
- Write articles in English (preferably commentary).
- Bachelor’s degree or above in translation, journalism or related disciplines from a reputable university.
- At least 3 years of experience in Eng–Chi and Chi–Eng translation; more experience will be considered for Senior Translator & Writer.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Creative, target-oriented and detail-minded.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
- Strong planning and good time management.
- A good team player, proactive and with pleasant personality.
