Since 2010, The Hong Kong Edition has been honoured every year at the "Hong Kong Best News Awards", winning a current total of 141 awards. China Daily Hong Kong cares about the community and actively pays attention to the growth and development of local youths. The youth education platform VDO English was established in 2015 to provide students with an all-rounded English learning experience. Through video and game-based learning, VDO English aims to shape a new way of learning.
Currently, VDO English owns an official website, mobile app, along with social media accounts on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, with more than one million followers. VDO English also launched offline activities like school tours and public speaking competitions to further develop personal qualities and skills of students. The campus tours brought English and STEM booth games to local primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong, benefiting more than 200,000 students in over 500 schools. The public speaking competition has been held for 8 consecutive years and has attracted active participation from students, parents, and teachers. Hong Kong candidates selected by VDO English have successfully won the national championships twice during past years.
To further develop projects and products of VDO English, we are now looking for qualified candidates in Hong Kong to fill the following position:
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive support for the planning and coordination of various marketing and business development projects of the department.
- Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of various student exchange events and study tours.
- Reach out to schools to introduce VDO English's various products and events, including English public speaking competitions, training workshops, school tours, and all other relevant events.
- Take initiative to plan and coordinate school visits for the recruitment of students to join the abovementioned competitions, training workshops, and student events. Follow up on progress in a timely manner.
- Organize and coordinate on-site for training workshops, school tours, and all relevant student events and activities.
- Assist in identifying and communicating with professional English public speaking trainers to invite them to provide quality workshops on our behalf. Responsible for all necessary on-site logistic/coordination arrangements for these workshops.
- Assist in the operation of online student communities for promoting English public speaking competition and relevant events.
- Handle, respond and follow up for telephone/WhatsApp message enquiries or e-mail enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Other work-related tasks assigned by the Supervisor and directly report to the Director of the department.
- Bachelor Degree or above in Education or English or related.
- 1 year or above related working experience in education or marketing.
- Prefer to have work experience in the education industry, and possess a track record in organizing large-scale student events.
- Fluent in Cantonese and English, and with strong verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications including PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing.
- Priority given to those with knowledge in new media operations.
- Strong planning and organizing capabilities with good time management.
- Creative, target-oriented and detail-minded.
- Able to work independently under pressure and tight deadlines.
