Location: We offer hybrid working, with an expectation that you'll be present at our Holland & Barrett office in Nuneaton (CV10 7RH) for a minimum of 2 days per week.

The Role

Retail stores don't design themselves. Someone has to turn a blank unit in a shopping centre or on the high street into a functioning, on-brand, regulation-compliant space that customers actually want to spend time in. That someone might be you. If you're an Architectural Technologist who takes quiet satisfaction in a clean drawing package, a well-coordinated project, and a store that opens on time—this is probably worth reading on. We're a retailer with a growing estate, and we need someone to sit inside our Store Development team and make sure our spaces are designed properly, documented accurately, and delivered seamlessly. You'll work on stores that thousands of customers walk through every week. If it's right, they feel it.

What you'll actually be doing:

  • Producing technical drawings, layouts, and full documentation packages for new stores, refurbs, and rollout programmes
  • Preparing planning, building regs, and landlord submission drawings
  • Maintaining standard design templates and technical specs so're working from the same page
  • Reviewing contractor drawings and responding to site queries during construction
  • Attending project meetings and contributing technical input that actually moves things forward
  • Conducting site surveys and producing measured drawings when needed
  • Supporting snagging inspections during store openings

How we'll see your impact:

  • Stores open on time because the technical groundwork was done properly
  • Design packages don't come back covered in red marks from building control or landlords
  • Project teams trust the drawings they're working from
  • There is a consistent, on-brand physical experience across the estate

The Person

What you'll need:

  • A degree or HNC/HND in Architectural Technology or something closely related
  • Solid AutoCAD skills—you're reproducing drawings, not supervising others doing it
  • A real understanding of building regulations and construction detailing
  • Experience on commercial, retail, or fit-out projects
  • The kind of attention to detail that makes you quietly annoyed when dimensions don't add up

Useful, but not essential:

  • Experience with multi-site retail rollouts
  • Revit or BIM knowledge
  • Familiarity with landlord approval processes

What we offer:

  • The salary reflects impact of the role
  • 25 days holiday + 8 Bank Holidays
  • 25% staff discount across our range - plus free online delivery - so you can live the wellness you help deliver.
  • Pension contributions - because future-you deserves a break.
  • Free wellness diagnostic tests - knowing your health is the first step to improving it.
  • Exclusive discounts on wellness services, gym memberships, and more.
  • Perks from other retailers - discounts, advice, and savings from brands you actually use.
  • A culture of wellbeing - from mental health support to menopause coaching, we're serious about helping you feel your best.
