How to prepare for a job interview at Chimes

Know the Mission

Before your interview, take some time to understand Chimes' mission and values. They’re all about compassion and support, so think about how your own values align with theirs. This will help you answer questions more authentically and show that you're genuinely interested in making a difference.

Showcase Relevant Experience

Even if you don’t have direct experience in disability services, think about any relevant skills or experiences you can bring to the table. Whether it’s volunteering, caregiving, or even teamwork in previous jobs, be ready to share specific examples that highlight your ability to provide compassionate support.

Prepare for Scenario Questions

Expect to be asked how you would handle specific situations related to direct support. Practice answering scenario-based questions, like how you would assist someone with personal care or manage challenging behaviours. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your responses clearly.

Ask Thoughtful Questions

At the end of the interview, you’ll likely have a chance to ask questions. Prepare a few thoughtful ones that show your interest in the role and the organisation. For example, you could ask about the training process or how the team supports each other in providing care. This shows you’re engaged and eager to learn more.
