We're looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to take ownership of our operational vehicle fleet of approximately 100 vans, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, cost-effective and available to support essential repairs and maintenance services. You'll play a key role in improving fleet performance, driving efficiencies and supporting frontline teams to deliver excellent services to our customers.

We're looking for a Fleet Manager to lead the effective management of our vehicle fleet, ensuring our frontline repairs and maintenance teams have the resources they need to deliver reliable, high-quality services to customers every day.

Role purpose: To provide single-point accountability for the safe, compliant and cost-effective management of Chime's repairs and maintenance fleet. The role is responsible for maximising vehicle availability, managing suppliers and contracts, and identifying opportunities to improve performance and value for money.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the performance, availability and utilisation of a fleet of approximately 100 operational vehicles.
  • Coordinate vehicle servicing, MOTs, inspections, repairs and defect management to ensure fleet compliance and roadworthiness.
  • Monitor fleet costs, fuel usage, telematics data and supplier performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenditure.
  • Lead on fleet compliance, accident management, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver measurable operational and financial benefits.

What are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Experience managing or coordinating an operational vehicle fleet, ideally including light commercial vehicles or vans.
  • Experience working with vehicle maintenance providers, lease companies, hire suppliers or fleet management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, servicing, MOT requirements, insurance processes and accident management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret fleet, fuel, telematics and cost data.
  • Experience monitoring budgets, analysing performance and producing management reports.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, suppliers and compliance requirements.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using spreadsheets, reporting tools and fleet management systems.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualification in fleet management, transport, logistics, procurement, health and safety or compliance.
  • Experience within housing, repairs and maintenance, construction, local authority or contractor environments.
  • Knowledge of low-emission vehicles, carbon reduction initiatives and fleet replacement planning.
  • Experience implementing fleet improvement programmes, supplier performance reviews or cost-saving initiatives.
