A leading international financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join its central finance function. This is a senior role within a high‑growth, multi‑location business known for its strong culture, collaborative environment, and commitment to excellence. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, contribute to strategic decision‑making, and ensure the delivery of accurate, timely financial information across the group.

About the Role

Reports to: Group Financial Controller

This position is responsible for the production of statutory and management information across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, overseeing group audit processes, and supporting the wider finance function. The role also involves stakeholder management, tax and VAT oversight, and contributing to financial analysis and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as deputy to the Head of Financial Control
  • Lead and develop direct reports, ensuring delivery of key outputs
  • Partner with senior management and cross‑functional teams to provide financial guidance
  • Manage and coordinate the Group audit process and external auditor relationships
  • Prepare and present financial papers to Boards and committees
  • Attend Group-level risk and audit committee meetings
  • Oversee statutory accounting for all group entities, manage statutory and regulatory returns
  • Maintain financial statement templates, core accounting policies, and implementation of accounting standards
  • Produce consolidated financial statements and quarterly unaudited group results
  • Maintain and enhance the internal financial control environment
  • Oversee intercompany reconciliations and settlements
  • Coordinate dividend proposals and settlements with jurisdictional controllers
  • Support preparation and submission of tax returns in partnership with Tax leadership
  • Support strategic projects and business initiatives
