A well-regarded regional law firm is seeking a junior commercial litigation solicitor to join its growing London office. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who wants exposure to high-quality, varied contentious work with genuine responsibility and direct partner access. There is also potential for the successful candidate to grow a niche area if desired.
The Role
You will work closely with a highly experienced disputes partner acting across a broad range of civil and commercial litigation, with particular strengths in:
- Banking & Finance Litigation
- Bridging loan disputes
- Enforcement and defence of personal guarantees
- Mis-sold mortgages, pensions, and other financial products
- Spread betting, CFD and financial trading disputes
- Negligence claims against banks and financial advisors
- Fraud, conspiracy, and dishonesty-related claims
- Breaches of loan agreements, overdrafts, and other debt instruments
- Commercial & Property Disputes
- Contractual disputes
- Consumer rights and consumer finance matters
- Corporate, shareholder, director, and partnership disputes
- Defamation
- Property disputes (leases and tenancy agreements)
- Professional negligence claims
- Debt recovery and contested enforcement proceedings
- Betting & Gaming Disputes
- Recovery of monies for vulnerable individuals
- Non-payment of winnings
- Misappropriation or theft of funds for gambling purposes
- Intellectual Property
- Trade mark infringement and registrations
- Copyright and design right disputes
- Passing off claims
- Software licence and mobile app infringement matters
The work is intellectually challenging, often complex, and provides exposure to both individual and corporate clients across a wide range of sectors.
The Ideal Candidate
- 2–4 years' PQE (other levels will be considered for the right profile)
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales
- Strong background in commercial litigation
- Experience (or strong interest) in at least one of:
- Banking & finance disputes
- Financial services litigation
- Fraud or professional negligence
- Intellectual property disputes
