We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and dynamic Faculty Leader for Mathematics and Computing to lead and further develop two vital curriculum areas within our 11–18 school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed teacher with strong leadership potential to provide strategic and inspirational leadership across Mathematics and Computing, securing high standards of teaching, learning and achievement for all pupils.

As Faculty Leader, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Mathematics and Computing, inspiring colleagues and students alike. You will shape a positive professional culture where high expectations, collaboration and continuous improvement are central to daily practice, ensuring strong progress for students from Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 5.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing strategic leadership for the Mathematics and Computing faculty across all key stages
  • Leading the design, implementation and evaluation of a coherent, ambitious curriculum
  • Securing strong progress and outcomes for all pupils, including those with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and EAL learners
  • Driving continuous improvement through robust quality assurance, effective use of data and reflective practice
  • Line managing, coaching and developing faculty staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team culture
  • Modelling consistently high-quality teaching and upholding high expectations of behaviour, effort and achievement
  • Embedding the school’s SPARK values – Success, Perseverance, Aspiration, Responsibility and Kindness – across faculty and whole-school provision and practice

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner in Mathematics or Computing with the ability to lead across both disciplines
  • Have successful experience of middle or faculty leadership, or clear readiness to lead at faculty level
  • Demonstrate the ability to motivate, support and challenge others effectively
  • Be committed to fostering a positive learning culture that reflects Success, Perseverance, Aspiration, Responsibility and Kindness
  • Have high expectations of student behaviour, engagement and achievement
