As Curriculum Lead for Business Studies, you will play a key role in shaping high-quality teaching and learning across the department.
Responsibilities
- Developing and leading a well-sequenced, ambitious curriculum that meets the needs of all learners and reflects current educational standards.
- Ensuring consistency and high expectations across the department through modelling best practice and supporting colleagues with planning and teaching strategies.
- Driving improvement through data, using assessment information and exam performance to identify trends, address gaps, and inform future planning.
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues, including contributing to professional development and leading effective departmental meetings.
- Working collaboratively with SLT, other curriculum leads, and external partners to maintain high standards and share good practice.
- Contributing to departmental quality assurance, including learning walks, book looks, and appraisal activities as directed.
- Delivering high-quality Business Studies lessons, maintaining strong behaviour expectations, and contributing to the wider life of the school.
- Delivering consistently strong, engaging Business Studies lessons with high expectations for progress.
- Using effective assessment, marking, and feedback to support student learning.
- Serving as a form tutor, supporting the wellbeing and personal development of your tutor group.
- Upholding safeguarding responsibilities and participating in school events, parent meetings, and whole-school initiatives.
- Supporting the legal duty to work with children's services where absence may indicate safeguarding concerns.
- Ensuring ongoing monitoring and suitability of staff, in line with full safer recruitment checks and child protection policies.
