Role Overview

As Deputy Support Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping positive behavioural outcomes across the school. You will lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of behaviour strategies, working closely with staff, students and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and embedding effective behaviour management strategies across the school
  • Supporting and coaching staff to build confidence in managing behaviour
  • Planning and delivering targeted interventions for individual students and groups
  • Managing behaviour systems, including CPOMS recording, monitoring and reporting
  • Leading post-incident reviews and ensuring robust follow-up processes
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with parents, carers and external agencies
  • Overseeing and developing the behaviour support team
  • Delivering training, including becoming a General Services (GSA) Tutor
  • Promoting a safe, structured and nurturing environment for all students
  • Contributing to whole-school improvement, ensuring behaviour systems are consistent, effective and aligned with best practice in ASC and SEMH provision

Experience and Skills

  • Has experience of working with students with ASC and/or complex behavioural needs
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of behavioural interventions and de-escalation strategies
  • Is calm, resilient and able to manage challenging situations effectively
  • Has excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Can build positive, trusting relationships with young people and their families
  • Is proactive, adaptable and solution-focused
  • Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners
