SWIM Focus
To support the Swim Instructor and School Staff during swimming lessons, ensuring that all pupils and pool users are fully supervised in the pool area. You will always act safely whilst holding responsibility for the Health and Safety of all pool users. You will have excellent attention to detail, ensuring the safety of our pupils whilst they are enjoying the use of our facilities. You will support with the maintenance and cleanliness of the pool area and equipment to ensure that this is to the required standards and is safe for pupils to use. National Lifeguard Qualification (NRASTC) would be beneficial and candidates shortlisted for interview will need to evidence that they have completed relevant training or that they are willing to be supported by us to complete the training as required for the role.

Classroom Focus Teaching and Learning
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the class teacher, line manager and other school staff. Assist in the implementation of Pupil Progress and Provision Plans and curriculum target setting for pupils and help monitor their progress. Provide support for individual pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities. Work with other professionals, such as therapists and psychologists, as necessary. Assist with the maintaining pupil records, including learning records. Support pupils with a range of special needs and help develop their social skills.

Administrative Duties
Prepare and present displays of pupils’ work, as appropriate. Assist in the preparation of reports to support strategic requirements such as annual reviews. Undertake other duties from time to time as the class teacher requires.

Standards and Quality Assurance
Support the aims and ethos of the school. Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance. Attend team and staff meetings as required. Undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned by the class teacher. Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety.

Other duties and responsibilities
Attend to the physical well-being of pupils as appropriate to their individual needs. (This will include toileting and clearing bodily fluids/waste. Undertake First Aid training.) Actively supervise pupils at the beginning and end of the day, including escorting to transport. Actively supervise and engage pupils in a range of activities during break and lunchtimes. Undertake Team Teach training. Undertake Child Protection training in accordance with Bucks CC guidance. To assist in the co-ordination of activities and games for pupils at break and lunchtimes.
